• What is an ABAT?

    An ABAT or Applied Behavior Analysis Technician is a certified individual, who has gone through the training and examination in order to be qualified to work as a direct 1 to 1 therapy instructor for neuro-diverse individuals. They will implement and facilitate the treatment plan and behavior intervention programs to effectively support the individuals' needs.

  • Eligibility

    Must be at least 18 years old. Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or national equivalent. Must have completed 40 hours of approved assessment-based ABA coursework (including 3 hours in Ethics and 5 hours in Autism Core Knowledge) 15 hours of supervised fieldwork. Recommendation from their supervisor. Criminal background check conducted by the QABA Board through our 3rd-party background check provider, or evidence from an employer that there has been no change in status since the last background check was completed. Successful passing of accredited exam proctored by examity.

  • ABA Course

    The 40-hour ABAT course is one of the prerequisite requirements by QABA (the credentialing board for ABAT) in order to take the ABAT Certification examination.The content of this course covers all the tasks listed in ABAT Competency Standards and is developed or delivered by a professional who has been QABA certified, or certified by an accredited certifying entity, for a minimum of 2 years. This online course intends to provide a professional/paraprofessional foundation of knowledge to not only pass the ABAT exam, but also to be a stepping stone to other careers in educational enrichment and high support needs individuals.
